Volunteer to Clean up Brentwood Bay, next Saturday July 12.
The Brentwood Bay Marine Community Society (BBMCS) has organised the clean up using the same successful approach used for the previous two clean ups this year. Meet at 10.00 am at the Marchant Street wharf. BBMCS will bring boats with marine and shoreline debris to the wharf. Volunteers will load it onto barrows supplied by Anglers Anchorage and Portside Marinas and wheel them down the wharf to waiting trucks supplied by one of the live-aboards.
BBMCS has a CRD grant to assist with dump fees at DL Bins. BBMCS supplies refreshments and snacks. Last time was a joyful event, full of camaraderie with opportunities to meet like-minded folks all concerned with improving the marine environment. Most of the work is not physically demanding and there are always young, strong and fit helpers for the heavier and more awkward debris. Please come and spend an hour or two assisting in this worthwhile cause.
